Find NDIS cleaners
An NDIS cleaner is someone who cleans your home when your disability makes it hard to do yourself, paid for through your NDIS plan. On Solotude, you can find and message independent NDIS cleaners yourself.
Search independent cleaners in Greater Sydney on Solotude and message them yourself. You pick who comes into your home, not an agency.

What NDIS cleaning covers
An NDIS cleaner helps keep your home clean, safe and healthy. That can include:
- Vacuuming and mopping floors
- Cleaning bathrooms, toilets and the kitchen
- Wiping benches and surfaces
- Changing bed linen
- Taking out the bins
Before you book
- If you live with people who can clean shared areas, the NDIS may only fund cleaning for your own space.
- One-off jobs like carpet steam cleaning, pest control or an end-of-lease clean usually aren’t funded.
- Cleaning products usually aren’t covered. They’re an everyday living cost.
- The cleaning has to be linked to your disability. That’s what “reasonable and necessary” means.
Need help with lighter jobs, like dishes and laundry, as part of a wider visit? A support worker can do those too.
Which part of your plan pays for it
Cleaning is paid from your Core budget. Look for this name in your plan:
| What your plan says | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Assistance with Daily Life | House cleaning and other household tasks |

What NDIS cleaners cost
For 2026-27, the NDIS price limit for house cleaning and other household activities is $60.10 an hour. If you’re plan-managed, they can’t charge more than the limit. If you’re self-managed, you agree the price together. If your plan is NDIA-managed, you’ll need a registered provider.
Price limits are reviewed every year in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
How many cleaning hours can your funding buy?
Type in how much Core funding you want to spend on cleaning each week. We’ll show you how many hours that buys.
Estimate only. Based on the 2026-27 NDIS price limit of $60.10 an hour for standard weekday daytime support. Evenings, weekends and higher-intensity support cost more, so you’d get fewer hours. If your plan shows a yearly amount, divide it by 52. We set aside 15% of your funding for travel and admin, because most providers charge for these.
What to agree before the first clean
A short chat up front saves problems later. Before your first clean, agree on:
- Which rooms and tasks are included, and what isn’t
- How often they’ll come and how long each visit takes
- Whether they bring their own products and equipment
- How you’ll let them in, and parking or access details
- What happens if a visit needs to be cancelled or moved
Put it in your service agreement so you both know what to expect.
What Solotude checks for cleaners
Before a cleaner appears in search, we check their photo ID, their ABN and the NDIS Commission’s compliance records.
Many cleaners also add an NDIS Worker Screening Check or a Working with Children Check. We verify those too, and you can filter your search to only see cleaners who hold them. Read how it works in our Verification Policy.

Frequently asked questions
Does the NDIS pay for a cleaner?
Yes, if cleaning is hard for you because of your disability and it’s funded in your plan. It’s paid from Assistance with Daily Life in your Core budget. It has to be reasonable and necessary, which means linked to your disability, not just a chore you’d like help with.
Will the NDIS pay to clean my whole house?
If you live alone, the NDIS can usually fund cleaning for your whole home. If you live with people who can clean shared areas, it may only fund cleaning for your own room or living space.
Do I need a registered NDIS cleaner?
Only if your plan is NDIA-managed. If you’re self-managed or plan-managed, you can use an unregistered cleaner. Every cleaner paid through the NDIS must still follow the NDIS Code of Conduct.
How much does NDIS cleaning cost?
For 2026-27, the NDIS price limit for house cleaning is $60.10 an hour. If you’re plan-managed, your cleaner can’t charge more than that. If you’re self-managed, you agree the price with your cleaner.
Can I choose my own cleaner?
Yes. If you’re self-managed or plan-managed, you choose exactly who cleans your home. You’re not stuck with whoever an agency sends. On Solotude you can message cleaners before you decide.
