Getting started as an NDIS sole trader
- Create your account. Choose “Sole trader” at sign up. You need your name, email, phone, suburb, ABN, profession and a password.
- Build your profile. Add your photo and bio, your professions, the suburbs you cover, your availability and your rates. Nothing goes live until you are verified.
- Upload your documents. Your photo ID, ABN and any registrations your profession needs. Verification usually takes up to two business days.
- Pick your plan and go live. Seekers can message you, and you can apply for jobs posted in your area.
Why an NDIS sole trader chooses Solotude
- No commission, ever. You pay a flat weekly fee and keep 100% of your hourly rate.
- You set your own rates. Charge what your work is worth, within the NDIS price limits where they apply.
- You own the client relationship. Once you both want to take it further, you swap details and work directly together.
- You show up as a person, not a logo. Your photo, your bio and your verified credentials are what people see.
- You are findable 24/7. Someone searching for your profession in your suburb at 11pm can find you and message you.
How work finds you

Posted jobs
Seekers post jobs describing the support they need, where and when. You can apply for jobs in your profession and area. On Pro and Premium, we also email you when a matching job is posted.
Enquiries always reach you, whatever your plan. Your plan only sets how many job applications you can send each day.

What you need to get verified
Every sole trader on Solotude needs government photo ID and an active ABN, and we check the NDIS Commission’s compliance records before your profile appears in search. Some professions need more:
| Profession | Also needed to list |
|---|---|
| Nurses, OTs, physios and psychologists | Current Ahpra registration |
| Behaviour support practitioners | NDIS registration |
| Speech pathologists, dietitians, exercise physiologists and counsellors | Nothing further. Membership of your professional body is highly recommended and shown as self-reported |
| Support workers, cleaners and gardeners | Nothing further |
An NDIS Worker Screening Check and a Working with Children Check are highly recommended. We verify them when you add them, and many seekers filter for them. Full details are in our Verification Policy.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be NDIS registered to list as a sole trader?

A flat weekly subscription for your one profile, from $12 a week, billed monthly. There is no commission, no lead fee and no cut of your hourly rate. See the pricing page for every plan.
Does Solotude take a commission on what I earn?
No. You keep 100% of what you earn. Solotude does not employ you, manage your bookings or sit between you and your clients.
How long does verification take?
Usually up to two business days once your documents are complete. If something is missing, we tell you exactly what in writing so you can fix it and resubmit.
