The problem Solotude was built to solve
Most NDIS platforms make money from the work itself. They take a percentage of every hour delivered, or they charge a fee on every booking, or they employ the worker and keep the margin between what a participant pays and what the worker receives.
That model has three consequences. Participants get less support per plan dollar. Providers lose a permanent cut of their income. And the platform has a commercial reason to keep both sides inside its system rather than letting them build a direct relationship.
Solotude removed the percentage entirely. Providers pay a small flat weekly subscription to be listed and found. Nobody pays anything on the work that follows.

1. Verified before you connect
Providers can build their profile at their own pace, but no profile appears in search until our minimum checks are complete.
The minimum for every provider is government photo ID, an active ABN and a check of the NDIS Commission’s compliance records. Nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists also need current Ahpra registration, and behaviour support practitioners must be NDIS registered. Worker Screening and Working with Children Checks are highly recommended, verified when provided, and you can filter search by them. Every profile shows exactly what has been verified and what is self-reported.

2. Free for everyone looking for support
Participants, family members, informal supports and support coordinators use Solotude at no cost. No search fees, no contact fees, no subscription, no commission, no hidden charges. Every dollar in an NDIS plan goes to the support itself.
3. Providers keep 100% of what they earn
Providers pay a flat weekly subscription, which is tax deductible as a business expense. Solotude takes no percentage of any hour worked and no fee on any connection made. A provider’s rate is their own, and so is their income.
4. Direct connection, no middleman
Solotude is a directory and a messaging platform. It is not an agency and not a booking system.
There is no calendar to work around, no invoicing engine, no platform-set rates and nobody approving arrangements. Once two people decide to work together, they exchange contact details and continue on their own terms. The relationship belongs to them, not to Solotude.
5. Anonymous until you choose otherwise
All first contact happens through Solotude’s in-platform messaging. Nobody has to hand over a phone number, an email address or a home address to ask a question.
That means a participant can screen several support workers without exposing a single personal detail, and a support coordinator can vet providers properly before introducing anyone to a client.
6. People-first search
Solotude lists individual practitioners, not businesses. Every profile carries one person’s photo, their own bio, their own qualifications and the areas they actually cover, and search results show people rather than company branding.
You can filter by the things that decide whether someone is right for you: profession, location and distance, availability by day and time, in person or telehealth, and provider gender where that matters.
For anyone choosing who will come into their home, that difference is the entire decision.
7. Many professions, not just support work
Solotude covers support workers and nurses, allied health including occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, counsellors, exercise physiologists and dietitians, behaviour support practitioners, and practical home supports such as cleaning and gardening. Post a job. Describe the support needed, where and when. Verified providers in that profession and area are notified and apply directly. Job posts are unlimited, editable and deletable, and can run across different professions and different suburbs at the same time.
