Dietitians in Sydney

A dietitian helps you eat well for your health and your disability. That can mean meal plans, managing a health condition, safe eating with swallowing difficulties, or tube feeding.

  • Meal plans and healthy eating
  • Managing weight and health conditions
  • Texture-modified diets
  • Tube and PEG feeding
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Training support workers who help with meals

Sydney is home to a huge range of cultures and food traditions. A good dietitian will build your plan around the food you actually eat, including cultural and religious diets, not a generic meal plan.

Every dietitian on Solotude is checked

Before a dietitian appears in search, we check their photo ID, their ABN and the NDIS Commission’s compliance records. Membership of Dietitians Australia, as an Accredited Practising Dietitian, is highly recommended. Holding it is the dietitian’s own responsibility, and it shows on their profile as self-reported, so ask for their membership details before you start.

Many dietitians also add an NDIS Worker Screening Check or a Working with Children Check. We verify those too, and you can filter your search to only see dietitians who hold them. Read how it works in our Verification Policy.

What a dietitian costs in Sydney

Sydney uses the standard NDIS price limits, with no remote loading. Providers can usually also claim some travel time to get to you, up to 30 minutes in metro areas like Sydney, so someone who lives closer can stretch your funding further. Telehealth sessions have no travel time.

Every dietitian on Solotude shows their rate on their profile, so you know the cost before you message them. See current price limits on our NDIS dietitians page. You can also check the official NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free to browse dietitians on Solotude?

Yes. Solotude is free for participants, families and support coordinators. You sign up free, search dietitians in your part of Sydney and message them directly. There are no booking fees and nothing comes out of your plan for using Solotude.

Do dietitians in Sydney travel across suburbs?

Yes. Each dietitian sets the suburbs they cover and how far they’ll travel, and many offer telehealth too. Search by your own suburb to see who can come to you.

How much does a dietitian cost in Sydney?

Sydney uses the standard NDIS price limits for dietetics, with no remote loading. Dietitians may also claim up to 30 minutes of travel time to reach you. Each dietitian shows their rate on their profile, and our NDIS dietitians page lists the current limits. The official limits are in the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.

Can I choose a dietitian outside my local area?

Yes. You can message any dietitian on Solotude. Just check they’re happy to travel to you, or offer telehealth where that suits, and whether they’ll charge travel time, before you agree on anything.

What qualifications do dietitians need?

Dietitians hold a university degree in dietetics. They aren’t registered with Ahpra, so look for an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with Dietitians Australia. On Solotude, APD status is self-reported, so ask for their details before you start.

Can a dietitian help with cultural or religious diets?

Yes. A dietitian should work with the food you and your family already eat, including halal, kosher, vegetarian and cultural dishes. Mention it in your first message so they can tell you about their experience.
