What an hour of support costs

Mable’s own example uses an agreed rate of $58 an hour. The participant pays $62.61, the worker takes home $52.20, and Mable keeps $10.41 of every hour.

On Solotude, if a provider charges $58 an hour, the participant pays $58 and the provider keeps $58. The provider pays Solotude a flat weekly subscription instead (from $12 a week), however many hours they work.

For a participant using 10 hours of support a week at that rate, that is about $104 a week going to the platform on Mable, and $0 on Solotude.

Plan types and registration

Mable says it has applied to register as an NDIS digital platform and is going through the audit process. It says agency-managed (NDIA-managed) participants cannot use their NDIS funding to book independent workers on Mable. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can.

Solotude lists both registered and unregistered providers and does not process NDIS payments, so you arrange invoicing directly with your provider. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can choose either. Agency-managed participants can use Solotude to find NDIS-registered providers, who then claim from the NDIA.
